Risk Management System

SK Chemicals has established a 'Integrated Enterprise Risk Management System' by forming a Risk Management Committee to integrate risk management functions, performing financial and non-financial risk management at the board of directors level, and aims to identify and prevent risks in advance, minimizing volatility in corporate value due to uncertainty.

Integrated Enterprise Risk Management Process
  • 1. Risk Recognition and Challenge Identification/Goal Setting

    • Identification of risks considering the characteristics of each organization
    • Setting goals and core risk challenges considering factors such as risk scale and impact
  • 2. Execution and Monitoring of Risk Improvement

    • Ongoing monitoring of progress in key risk challenge
  • 3. Risk Results Reporting

    • Quarterly report on the progress to the board of directors
Risk Management Committee Structure

SK Chemicals appoints a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to report on the progress of key risk management to the CEO every quarter and subsequently to the board of directors. In addition, to prevent conflicts of interest that may arise from business priorities, the risk management organization is structurally separated from the business organization to ensure independence, and efforts are made to manage risks for the maximum benefit of the entire organization.
